The Chris & Suzy DeWolf Family Innovation Center for Aging & Dementia houses several services and offerings that are available to residents of HallMar Village and the general public. These include:
Mercy Center for Memory Health
Mercy’s Center for Memory Health helps people – of any age – determine whether their concern is dementia or a normal part of aging.
A specialized team of memory health experts assess the person’s abilities by interacting with them and their family member or friend, which may include:
- an assessment to determine if changing memory is normal aging or a symptom of some form of dementia or mild cognitive impairment.
- referrals to other medical providers.
- support and education to family caregivers.
- brain health education.
- referrals to and collaborations with the Family Caregivers Center of Mercy.

Family Caregivers Center
The Family Caregivers Center provides an unbiased, non-judgmental environment where you, as a caregiver, can learn from other caregivers, as well as staff and volunteers, the majority of whom have caregiving experience. The Caregivers Center offers:
- one-on-one meetings to discuss caregiver needs, provide emotional support and connect the caregiver to resources.
- Men’s, women’s and Wednesday afternoon coffees (support groups).
- educational events.
- multi-week supportive discussion/learning groups.
- multi-week series for caregivers whose loved one have died.
- question and answer sessions regarding veterans' benefits and Medicaid.
- music (Together in Song chorus) and horticulture events.
- information about respite options so caregivers can have a break.
- up-to-date resource lists and connections to trusted resources.
- a resource lending library.
- a monthly newsletter and event schedule.

Community Connections
Community Connections is a multifaceted program for adults living with earlier-stage dementia. This includes the Connections Club — a way for those living with dementia to make meaningful connections while their caregivers receive respite. Learn more.
Age- & Dementia-Friendly Smart Show Room
Check out Samsung Smart Appliances that can be controlled by an app on a cell phone. Also, see samples of chairs and tables specially designed to the right height with the correct size arms; robotic devices, such as a vacuum, mop, etc.; and examples of knobs and handles that work best for older adults and those living with dementia.
